PIP Success at  Barking and Dagenham Business Awards
 
PIP was a pleased to be a finalist at the third annual Barking and Dagenham Business Awards 2010 and proudly accepted the "Highly Commended" Award for Supporting Education, Training and Development.The ceremony was hosted at The Castle Green Conference Centre with BBC Sport broadcaster Garry Richardson compering.
 
The event highlighted the success and ambition of the boroughs businesses with the cream of the boroughs crop being short listed in 11 categories. Over 50 companies were in attendance and organisers said that 2010 was the best year for the awards so far, with the number of entries up and the quality of the entries, according to judges, higher than ever.
 
Speaking at the event, Paul Bishop, enterprise champion for organisers Barking and Dagenham Enterprise, said: "We were absolutely delighted with how many businesses entered this year. It shows there is a thriving business community in Barking and Dagenham and the awards are a great way to showcase these success stories".
 
 
Honours for Nutrition and Health
 
Two PIP Candidates recently recieved a Diploma in Nutrition and Health Distiction with Honours. Rebekar Gilbert (Griffonage International Search and Executive coaching) and Dan Aspeling (PIP Trainer) are amongst only a tiny fraction of candidates who achieve this level of success with this Diploma. "This is a very difficult qualification to gain and the grade is testament to the hard work the candidates put in" said Ricky Plumb, PIP Director and course tutor.
 
Rebekar said "This is great news for the quality of PIP training, and the aid given to candidates, so thank you very much indeed!"

PIP has recently been recognised for its contribution to the young people of Barking and Dagenham. PIP works closely with the Flexible Learning Team delivering accredited courses and providing work placement opportunities to youngsters, between the age of 14-16, in the borough who are not engaging positively with the school curriculum.

Councillor Liam Smith, Leader of the Council, said "I know that as an employer you have provided sterling support to our young people over a long period of time enabling them to gain work place skills in your organisation - essential skills that allow them to achieve and progress. It gives me great pleasure therefore in awarding this certificate as a token of appreciation for your valuable contribution to ensuring the success of the young people in the borough."
