"There was a lot of self-learning on this distance-learning course, however, if I got stuck, or was unsure of something, PIP was always at the end of the phone or email to provide help and assistance (even at weekends!).

PIP provided first class support over the six months when I was studying and were very welcoming and helpful when I arrived to sit the exam.

The result is very good news for the quality of PIP's training, and aid given to candidates, so thank you very much indeed".  June, 2010.

IOSH: Validation Visit 21st February, 2010 - Managing Safely

Jane Higgs
Health and Safety Training Verifier
IOSH Services Ltd
(Paraphrased)

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank PIP Training for your kind hospitality during my recent validation visit; I had an enjoyable and informative visit and was made to feel very welcome by all.

This was an open Managing Safely course delivered to delegates at the training facilities at PIP Training and Services. The 5 delegates, who were from a variety of backgrounds, participated well in the training and were attentive throughout my observation. All had a copy of the course handbook and were seen to be making notes during the session as appropriate.

Having spoken to some of the delegates during the break time, it was pleasing to hear that they were enjoying the course with comments made that it was already making them think a lot more about health and safety in their work place.

The training room was of a good size for the group and was very well lit with artificial light. The room temperature was comfortable.

The tutors style created a relaxed training environment for the delegates and Dan established a good rapport with everyone by good use of humour during the session. It was great to see him encourage delegates to think for themselves by the use of good questioning techniques, rather than just going through the presentation which gave them a better learning experience.

During my observation, the subjects covered were very clearly and carefully explained and I felt that the training was matched to the delegate knowledge level very well. The pace of delivery was also just right, enabling subjects to be fully absorbed and notes made before moving on.

In summary, Dan was a well prepared trainer delivering a very well thought out course which considered and accommodated all delegate learning styles very well.

The course was delivered in a proficient manner and did meet the professional standard expected by IOSH. I would like to add that I very much enjoyed the session I attended and I wish you every success with future courses."  February, 2010.

Rachel Atkins
Flexible Learning Co-Ordinator
Barking and Dagenham

"PIP have been able to provide high quality training to students that have been referred to Flexible Learning by schools from the LBBD during 2009/2010 academic year. PIP were able to work with three groups of students which included a group of Young Apprentices.

The PIP team have engaged really well with the students and encouraged regular attendance. Flexible Learning is delighted with the progress of the young people. All of the 13 Young Apprentices gained a Level 2 qualification in Health and Safety and Risk Assessment, as well as the other two groups completing Level 1 qualifications in Health and Safety which can only benefit the students when they progress after post 16.

Flexible Learning will shortly be recruiting for students 2010/2011 and will be keen to request that PIP put together a similar programme for groups of students referred to us from the borough starting in September 2010.

Not only are PIP a professional service to work with, the students engage with the training and thoroughly enjoy attending.

The Flexible Learning Service looks forward to working with PIP in the future"  February, 2010.
