Course Summary
This qualification provides a thorough understanding of the main categories of accidents and ill health, their socio-economic costs of good health and safety management. It is designed for anyone with a responsibility to conduct risk assessments, such as: supervisors, site managers and managers, technicians, engineers or personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.

Length of Course
One-day classroom based training programme (7 hours) with pre course work activity, plus a minimum of 20 guided learning hours for further research and trainer support to complete the Fire Risk Assessment activity. PIP offer an on-going support and guidance service in order for candidates to complete their work place assignment.
Course Information
The qualification covers the following topics:
- Conducting risk assessments (with the necessary technical knowledge in relation to the activities/ environments/issues)
- Organising and implementing a risk assessment programme
- Participating in the identification of specific training needs for the activities being assessed
- Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety within their organisation

This qualification is assessed by an assignment and self-evaluation.
