CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWCTC) Course

Our two-day Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course (TWCTC) is designed to help those who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works on site. Our course seeks to improve the knowledge of this role and the temporary works environment. You need to have experience of being responsible for managing all forms of temporary works, and have detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role.

Our course will also emphasise the importance of the 4C’s - communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency.

At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:

  • Need for and duties of a TWC
  • The importance of teamwork and understand the roles of others
  • Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS 5975 in respect of this role.

There are no formal entry requirements; however, you are expected to have a working knowledge of the following legislation:

• Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
• Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007
• (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015
•  Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
•  Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
• The Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 199
• The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
• The Work at Height Regulations 2005.

For our online course you will also need access to a computer/ laptop and must have the capabilities to access a Zoom account with a stable Internet connection

If you have completed a SSSTS or SMSTS you will have gained the knowledge to meet these expectations

The TWCTC Course pass rate is 78% (21 out of 27) the assessment will be by an end of course examination. You must complete four mandatory exercises, pass a trainer review and complete the exam to successfully achieve this course

If you fail the exam depending on the mark it can be re-taken within 90 days - If you completed the four mandatory exercises, pass the trainer review but fail the final exam, you may re-sit the exam (depending on your mark). If you score less than 63% in the exam, you must attend the full course again, before re-sitting the exam

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
